A short but fascinating tour of an area rich in history and significant sights. Combine the thrill of standing at the crater of mount Bromo with the walk around the spectacular Borobudur Temple. This tour can be done as a sidetrip to a beach stay in Bali, and includes an English-speaking guide, entrance fees, breakfast daily and a train journey. Flights between Bali and Surabaya and Yogyakarta are not included. Departs daily.
Day 1: Bali to Surabaya
Transfer to Denpasar airport for your Garuda Indonesia flight to Surabaya. On arrival in Surabaya, your guide will take you to the Arab Quarter, Flower Market and Kalimas Harbour before driving to Sukapura village. Check in to your hotel the Java Banana Bromo. Set in ten acres of landscaped gardens, the hotel features 108 deluxe rooms and cottages, many of which are set around the attractive free-form swimming pool. Additional facilities include a restaurant, coffee shop and bar.
Day 2: Bromo Tour to Surabaya
An early start at 3.30 am for your Mount Bromo tour with a drive to Ngadisari village, continuing by a pony ride across the sea of sand before the final 245 steps to the rim of mount Bromo crater. Witness the sunrise (weather permitting). Back to your hotel for breakfast and a shower before continuing to Surabaya and checking into the Hotel Majapahit Surabaya.
Day 3: Surabaya to Yogyakarta
Transfer to the railway station to board the “Sancaka” train (Executive Class) to Yogyakarta. This four and a half hour journey will take you through the interesting Javanese countryside. After arriving in Yogyakarta, spend the afternoon visiting the amazing Prambanan Temple, the most elegant Hindu Temple complex in Indonesia. Stay at the Hyatt Regency Jogya.
Day 4: Yogyakarta to Borobudur to Bali
After breakfast, visit the Sultan’s Royal Palace before stopping at Borobudur Temple to explore this amazing Buddhist monument. This spectacular structure is a nine-tiered mountain of stone with 5 km of stone reliefs telling the story of Buddha. It is the largest Buddhist monument in the world. Admire the beauty of Borobudur before transferring to the airport for your afternoon flight to Bali. On arrival in Bali you will be transferred to your choice of hotel or connect with your International flight.
