Travel
The closest airport to both Elephant Hills Luxury Tented Camp and the Rainforest Camp at Cheow Larn Lake is Phuket – approximately a 2.5 transfer (3 hours for the Rainforest Camp). Elephant Hills is just a 45 minute transfer from the beach resorts at Khao Lak so many visitors choose to combine a beach stay here with Elephant Hills. Krabi is a 3 hour transfer. For Koh Samui transfers we can arrange a car to/from Surat Thani (212 hours) and ferry from there to/from Samui. Another alternative is to take anvovernight train from Bangkok to Surat Thani then a car transfer to Elephant Hills can be pre-booked.
When to go
Khao Sok is one of the wettest areas in Thailand with an average annual rainfall of around 3,500mm. This will generally be restricted between the months of May and November. At other times of the year the area is generally dry apart from the odd day of rain |
