Travel
There are regular flights to Langkawi from Kuala Lumpur, a flying time of an hour. The airport is in the west of the island, a 25 minute drive to the main town of Kuah, but transfer times vary greatly depending on the location of your accommodation. The Andaman and The Datai hotels are located 20 miles north of the airport with a transfer time of 40 minutes. We can arrange for you to be met on arrival and transferred privately to your hotel from £7 per person.
Activities
Take the cable car to the summit of a mountain at 700 metres to walk across the sky bridge and enjoy spectacular views. There are also jungle treks to be taken in the area. There is a very good half day island- hopping cruise that includes a visit to the beautiful Lake of the Pregnant Maiden. When to go Langkawi is warm all year round with temperatures around 30°C, occasionally dropping to 22°C. The hottest month is usually February and the coolest is October. The driest and so most popular period for visitors is from mid-November to April. The rainy season is from September to early November, though the rainfall is mixed with periods of sunshine. |
