Accompanied by an English speaking guide you will travel by private car as well as taking the high speed train from Seoul to Gyeongju and by a flight from Gimhae to Jeju. Accommodation is in four star hotels and includes breakfast daily. The entrance fees to museums and attractions are also included. Tour departs daily. International flights not included. |
Day 1: Incheon Airport Seoul
You will be met on arrival and transferred to your hotel.
Day 2: Seoul
After breakfast visit the Gyeongbokgung palace, the primary residence of the Joseon Dynasty royal family, regarded as the most beautiful palace in Korea. Then to Insadong Antique streets, where traditional goods are on display. Transfer to Korean Folk Village where many features of the Korean culture have been collected and preserved.
Day 3: Seoul - DMZ - Gyeongju
Journey to the Demilitarized Zone. It has been over 50 years since the outbreak of the Korean War and the drawing of the 249km cease-fire line from the East Sea to the Yellow Sea, which has created the Demilitarized Zone. Visit Imjingak Park, Freedom Bridge, The 3rd infiltration Tunnel, Dora Observatory, Dorasan Station. Return to Seoul and take a high speed train to Gyeongju.
Arrive at Gyeongju Station, and hotel check in.
Day 4: Gyeongju
Today explore UNESCO world heritage temples in Gyeongju: Seokguram grotto, the home of the serene stone Buddha of the 8th century and Bulguksa temple. A short ride from the Grotto is Bulguksa, one of the best-known temples in the country. Proceed to Gyeongju National Museum, Tumuli Park, Cheomseongdae Observatory.
Day 5: Gyeongju - Busan - Jeju
Travel to Busan to enjoy sightseeing in Busan City including the Fish Market and beach. Then fly to Jeju Island. Arrive at Jeju Airport and hotel check in.
Day 6: Jeju
Jeju Island is known as the ‘Island of the Gods’ and a popular holiday spot for Koreans. Its mixture of volcanic rock, frequent rains and temperate climate, make it similar to the Hawaii. Visit O'sulloc Green Tea Museum, then Yeomiji Botanical Garden. Transfer to Sod Island, named after the plant used to tie thatched roofs. Visit Yakcheonsa Temple, the largest Buddhist building in Asia with excellent views over the sea. The last stop is Jusangjeolli Cliff and its noted stone pillars.
Day 7: Jeju
Explore the west course of Jeju. Visit Sunrise Peak- a UNESCO World Heritage Site, then Seongeup Folk Village with its Confucian shrines, fortress ruins, and stone monuments. Transfer to Manjanggul Lava Tube, one of the finest lava tunnels in the world.
Day 8: Jeju - Seoul - Incheon Airport Seoul
Transfer to Jeju airport to take a flight to Seoul Gimpo Airport. and transfer to Incheon Airport.
