The Best of Hanoi
1/2-day Tour
A half day tour to savour. Hanoi is a beautiful city that has retained much of its heritage with Frenchstyle buildings. This is a city of lakes, shaded boulevards and public parks. The tour includes a visit to Ba Dinh Square including Ho Chi Minh’s Mausoleum, and several of his houses. Continue on to the Temple of Literature. Hanoi, known as the ‘Paris of the Orient’ offers a delightful taste of Asia’s heritage. Retaining much of its French colonial architecture, this is a city of wide, treelined boulevards and lakes. Spend time in the vibrant Old Quarter; a maze of bustling, narrow streets offering all kinds of goods, with an excellent selection of cafes, bars and restaurants. A visit to the nearby iconic Halong Bay is a must. |
Travel
Hanoi is served by scheduled services from most Asian cities, with onwards connections from London. are no direct flights from the UK. The airport is 22 miles north of the city, which is a 50- minute drive. We can arrange for you to be met on arrival and transferred privately to your hotel. From £12 per person.
Attractions
Start in the grand Ba Dinh Square. Visit Ho Chi Minh’s Mausoleum, where you will see the former leader laid out before you. Nearby are some of his houses, set in landscaped grounds. Visit The Temple of Literature, founded in the 11th century. Spend time in the Old Quarter, either on foot or on a cyclo (a cycle rickshaw). Further afield Halong Bay is one of Vietnam’s major attractions and for good reason. It is possible to visit on a day trip, but this involves a six-seven hour round trip transfer. Alternatively we offer a two-day cruise which allows you more time to enjoy the breathtaking scenery.
When to go
November to February is Hanoi’s driest and therefore best time to visit. March to October is hotter, with more rainfall and high humidity. Hanoi is generally warm to hot, though in winter it can reach a low of just 13°C.
